Jonathan Lee Pratt, also known by the stage name JZyNo, is a super-talented Liberian musician currently residing in Ghana. He is also known as “JZyNo The Rula” since he controls Liberian music and promotes the nation’s culture beyond the African continent. Born in Buchanan, Liberia’s Grand Bassa County, on January 3rd, 1995. He actively started his career in 2019. Since then, JZyNo has continued to be one of the most reliable musicians in Liberia. He came to prominence in 2020 thanks to his smash song “Kpan Kpan Me,” which included Teddyride, another big name from Liberia. He received five nominations for the MLMA Liberian Music Awards that same year.
He continued to develop musically. JZyNo’s career has exploded from 2019 to 2023. He has been named the new face of the current generation of Liberian music thanks to his successful song “Butta My Bread,” featuring Ghanaian musician Lasmid. Numerous well-known celebrities worldwide have started jamming to the song, gaining much support. The song’s music video, which Clarence Peters, a renowned Nigerian director of photography, shot, has received over a million views on YouTube.
The first musician from Liberia to garner international notice is JZyNo. It’s been a difficult journey.
